Mr. Hiatt and Ms. Mahilani E.K. Hiatt possess a collective 70 years of experience – representing both plaintiffs and defendants – in hundreds of complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters throughout the State of Hawai‘i. It is that long history and wealth of experience which allows Hiatt & Hiatt to bring creativity, diligence and insight to each matter entrusted to them. Their office is located on the Big Island, their neutral practice is statewide and they also accept mainland assignments on a case by case basis.

MEDIATION
Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process wherein the mediator, an impartial and neutral third person, assists the parties in negotiating their differences and obtaining a mutually acceptable resolution.
Employment Investigations
A neutral and thorough employment investigation regarding claims or allegations brought by an employee against a company followed by a comprehensive written report containing findings and recommendations to the company.
ARBITRATION
Arbitration involves a process, outside of the court system, wherein the parties present their respective cases during an evidentiary hearing, which is presided over by a neutral arbitrator, who thereafter issues a binding and final arbitration award.
Best Interest Fact Finder
A process wherein the court appoints, or the parties mutually agree to, a fact finder to conduct a neutral and thorough investigation as to the best interests of the child or children in a custody dispute and to thereafter make recommendations to the court.
